BLC Events

More than Events—Moments that Matter

The BLC curates immersive gatherings—signature retreats, dynamic conferences, and intimate local events—that offer senior leaders what they rarely get: clarity, connection, and replenishment. You return not just for insights, but for the feeling of being whole, heard, and home.

Signature Events

Fall Plenary

Grounded in Purpose, Reconnected in Place

"The BLC is where I return to reflect, rise, and renew." —Jackie Shoback ‘88

Each November, members return to campus for the BLC’s flagship conference. The Plenary is a chance to reflect on big ideas, reconnect with each other, and reengage with Wellesley.

Themes are selected by members and brought to life through panels, keynotes, and meaningful dialogue. Beyond the agenda, what draws members back is the feeling: walking the paths of Wellesley again, meeting future leaders, and remembering why this sisterhood matters. The agenda also includes conversations with Wellesley’s president and senior leaders, campus tours, and student mentoring moments.

Step Away to Go Deeper

"The retreats are wonderful and it is special to reconnect with old friends and make new ones." —Anne Byerly '82

Our three-day retreats are designed to spark curiosity and connection. Held in culturally rich destinations—both in the U.S. and special trips abroad—they combine thoughtful programming with immersive local experiences.

Planned by members with ties to the region, each retreat invites you to explore a new place, deepen your leadership lens, and strengthen bonds with fellow BLC members in an intimate, inspiring setting.

BEAM: Shaping the Future of Women in Business

A group of the BLC members, led by Elyse Cherry '75, have been working closely with the Lulu Chow Wang ’66 Center for Career Education team to develop this exciting new event. The Symposium will be the annual signature event for the new Business, Entrepreneurship, and Money Management (BEAM) Initiative.  The BEAM Initiative grew from a close collaboration between BLC co-founder Lois Juliber ('71) and Career Education. The goal of the initiative is to support current and future business leaders and entrepreneurs, and to ensure all Wellesley students are empowered to pursue future career pathways as financially savvy graduates.

We thank Lois Juliber and Lulu Chow Wang for their generous support, and we are grateful to all BLC members and the Career Education leadership engaged in the success of the inaugural event.

BLC members also engage in a wide range of special events throughout the year—from online panels and mentoring sessions to our annual Reunion Breakfast and seasonal socials.
